How to Convert Excel Files to Word
- 1). Power on your computer and then double-click on the desktop icon for your web browsing program. Navigate your web browser to a website that offers an Excel to Word conversion program such as "Convert DOC" or "Total Excel Converter" (see Resources below).

Navigate to the "Downloads" section of the web page and then scroll down to the "Download" link. Click on it and wait for a new window to appear on your computer screen. Click on "Save File" on the new window. - 3). Open the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and navigate to the folder where your downloaded files are saved. Double-click on the file you download. Click on the language you want the program to use and then click on "Next."
- 4). Click on "Install" to install the program on your computer's hard drive. Double-click on the conversion program's desktop icon. Scroll through the list of folders and find the Excel document that you want to convert to the Word format.

The Conversion Toolbar
Click on the check mark next to the file. Locate the "Conversion" toolbar at the top of the screen and then click on "Doc." Select the location that you want the new file to be saved at from the drop-down menu that will appear. Click "Start" to convert the file to the Microsoft Word format.
