Get Into Business With An Obsession
Others may think it's a bit weird the way you're so focused on something and want to talk about it until the cows come home. But if you know your stuff, they'll keep paying attention.
1 The obsessive. Have you ever met somebody, such as at a party, who corners people and starts talking about their interest? They're no fool when it comes to it but they have little conversation besides it. However, you go on listening. It's interesting to hear someone talk about their obsession even though it might be funny to listen to, and watch them. This is especially so if they know how to make money out of it. Even though they may be laughed at, they have the last laugh in the end.
2 Get some obsession. I'm not suggesting you go that far. But if you look inside yourself there may very well be a topic you're so interested in you'd do it for nothing. It might only be one tiny area of internet marketing in its many forms. You might be obsessed by FTP programs. But if you see how many people this causes trouble for, particularly a need for an easily usable two-clicks one, you can see the possibilities of making some money.
3 Is there a business? Ask yourself if you could build a business on it or round it. Do all the usual research before you start spending any money or time on it. Of course, it may not be the whole thing, even if it's already a tiny idea. There might be a small part of that which it's possible to monetize. In FTP, maybe there's a tiny bit of code that with your knowledge could transform the whole process. That in itself could change a key area of the technicalities of working on the internet.
