Beneath the blood Above the shame It's all because Of Jesus holy Name His precious blood That was shed for me Opening my eyes to see Graciously liberating me From myself and sin Purifying my heart After which the Holy Spirit Powerfully came in To rearrange and change me From the inside out Giving me joy full of glory So I can sing, dance, and shout Religion, is not what this is about It's all about divine relationship Right relationship with the Creator Right relationship with yourself A clean conscience before God and man The gentle touch of God's right hand Restoring order, dignity, and authority Removing any hint and scent of insecurity Imparting joy, peace, and tranquility The rivers of the Spirit wash away for me Memories and lingering tendencies Toward the past frailties and trivialities Giving me a heart Godward to please My Maker in all I say and do To tenderly serve my fellow man too Righteous certainly not because of what I do Simply connected and clean through and through Because of the precious blood of Jesus Sacrificially shed for me and you.
With this Jesus what will you do? Jesus is lovingly calling out to you Embrace His cross and crucifixion Yield to the Holy Spirit's conviction Your sins put Christ on the cross to die His resurrection, if you believe, will lift you high Above your past, your pain, and self disdain Get under the blood, live over the shame Put it all behind you in Jesus' Name!
