How to Install Tarkett Laminate Flooring on Stairs
- 1). Remove any staples that might have previously kept carpet in place. Vacuum all dirt, dust and debris away to ensure a clean fit between the stairs and your laminate flooring.
- 2). Measure the riser at the bottom of your staircase.
- 3). Using your saw, cut a plank to fit flush with the top of the stair tread. Be sure to wear safety glasses and a dust mask to keep your eyes, nose and lungs safe.
- 4). Apply construction adhesive to the back of your laminate plank and press it into place firmly.
- 5). Measure a piece of laminate to fit both the stair tread and the stair nosing and cut it accordingly.
- 6). Apply adhesive to the stair tread and spread it evenly with a notched trowel. Make sure that all of the tread is covered with a thin layer of adhesive before you install the laminate.
- 7). Press your tread and nose plank firmly into place, working from one end to the other to ensure an even distribution of pressure and adherence.
- 8). Repeat Steps 2 to 7 until all of your risers and treads are covered with laminate flooring.
