- The System Volume Information folder is located at C:\System Volume Information.
- To gain access to your System Volume Information folder you have to configure your folder options to "Show hidden files and folders." You also have to deselect the "Hide protected operating system files" folder option. To open the folder options dialog box, open the "Tools" menu in Windows Explorer and select "Folder Options." Then go to the "View" tab to reconfigure your settings.
- The safest way to delete your system restore files is to turn off the System Restore feature. Turning off System Restore deletes any saved restore points. System Restore can be turned off through the System Properties dialog box. Right-click on "My Computer" and select "Properties" from the shortcut menu. Go to the "System Restore" tab and put a check mark in the box next to "Turn off System Restore."
