Verizon Voyager Tips

    Messaging Tips

    • The LG Voyager for Verizon, supports voice, video, text and photo messages and mobile email clients through a connection to an Internet message access protocol (IMAP4) or post office protocol (POP3) server. Instant messaging, which sends short text messages through an Internet connection, is also available on the phone. While some phones currently on the market come with these messaging features automatically set, the Voyager requires you to adjust the phone's settings -- and those of the email client -- to activate them.

    Memory Tips

    • If the LG Voyager's 184MB of internal memory isn't enough to meet your needs, take advantage of the phone's built-in micro-secure digital card slot that allows for up to 8GB of expanded memory. Adding memory to the Voyager will give you more room to add content, such as contacts, music and apps. MicroSD cards are available in a variety of sizes, such as 4, 8 and 16GB. Checking your phone's content periodically for files you don't want or need any longer is a good habit to get into if you want to preserve your phone's memory space.

    Connectivity Tips

    • For adding content and synchronizing data, the LG Voyager for Verizon connects to a personal computer through a USB cable. This connection will allow you to transfer images, music and apps from a PC to your phone or vice versa. Equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology, the Voyager offers a variety of profiles, or modes, such as object push (OPP), phone book access (PBA), headset (HSP) and hands-free (HFP). The OPP profile facilitates the wireless transferring of data from one device to another, while the PBA profile enables you to share contact information with another mobile device. The HSP profile gives you the option of making and receiving calls through a two-way wireless headset and the HFP profile allows for two-way, hands-free calling through the phone's speakerphone.

    Battery Life Tips

    • When fully charged, a standard lithium-ion battery holds 950 milliamp hours of power, providing the phone with up to 480 hours, or 20 days, of standby and up to four hours of talk time. Compared to similar devices on the market in 2011, the Voyager's standby time ranks slightly above the 453-hour average and well below the eight-hour average for talk time. There are ways, however, that you can extend your phone's battery life, such as shortening the sleep mode activation time and disabling the phone's GPS application.
