  The Audi A6 is the German automaker's entry into the premium mid-size sedan market. The A6 was originally introduced as a 1995 model, replacing the outgoing Audi 100 sedan. The A6 underwent a full redesign for the 1998 model year, with its second generation lasting through the 2004 model year. The S-Line trim package is the performance-oriented trim package of the Audi Line, making the A6 a competitor, albeit a less powerful one, of the BMW M3.
