How to Build a Solar Water Heater for a Swimming Pool

- 1). Seal the hula-hoop joint with the electrical tape to water proof it.
- 2). Lay the hoop flat on the plastic. Cut the plastic closely around the outside of the hoop.
- 3). Clamp the plastic in several places to the hoop so that it doesn't move around.
- 4). Seal a spot with the glue gun every 2 inches between the plastic and the hoop. Continue around the margin until the entire hoop is sealed in that fashion. You'll want a tight drum-like look to the plastic when you're finished. Remove the clamps.
- 5). Poke three or four small holes into the plastic with a sharpened pencil.
- 6). Throw the hoop, plastic side up, into the pool for your first solar heater. Continue to make them until you have about 2/3 of the pool covered with the hoops.
