Hot Tubs: Toronto Spa Owners Enjoy Many Benefits

Want to sleep better at night, ease the pain of injuries or arthritis, or perhaps even control your blood sugar levels? The answer lies in hot tubs! Toronto spa owners enjoy a variety of benefits from their purchases and a good night's sleep is one of them.

How Hot Tubs Help You Sleep Better

Sleeping problems have a variety of causes including stress, restless leg syndrome, arthritis pain, sleep apnea, noise, and even a restless partner. If you're having trouble sleeping, you're not alone. America's National Sleep Foundation (NSL) reports that sleep problems (at least a few times each week) affect about 60 per cent of adults. What's more, NSL's report suggests that soaking in hot water causes a temperature shift. The body's core temperature goes up during the soak and then immediately falls when you exit the hot tub. Researchers believe that this drop in temperature signals to the body that it's time to go to sleep. You've likely experienced drowsiness and a deeper sleep after hot baths or soaking in hot tubs.

Toronto Patients Benefit Too

Not only do hot tubs help you unwind, warm up, and get a better night's sleep, the can ease the pain and symptoms of many health conditions. For example, a study conducted by Dr. Philip Hooper from Colorado's McKee Medical center involved a group of Type 2 diabetes patients who were observed for three weeks. During these three weeks, the patients soaked in a hot tub for 30 minutes a day, six days a week. At the end of the study, the average blood sugar level for these patients dropped by 13 per cent.

Hot tubs also help arthritis sufferers. The buoyance of the water coupled with hydrotherapy jets eases the stress on joints and delivers a gentle massage. Hydrotherapy has been shown to ease muscle and back pain as well.

Entertainment is another Benefit of Hot Tubs

Toronto spa owners often invite others to join in the fun. Soaking in a hot tub with romantic partners, friends, and family members is an enjoyable way to spend time together. The bubbles provide ambiance while the hot water and jets simply feel good. Whether you want to enjoy a quiet soak or carry on a lively conversation, the hot tub setting is perfect. Plus, everyone will enjoy relief from their aches and get a good night's sleep. What's not to love about hot tubs?
