How to Clean Honeywell Fans

    • 1). Unplug the fan before cleaning.

    • 2). Use a vacuum with a wand attachment to clean the outside housing and the grille of the fan. Use a pipe cleaner to dust hard to reach places between the grilles.

    • 3). Wipe the outside of the fan with a soft cloth and household cleaner, such as Windex or Formula 409. Plain soap and water can also be used; just make sure to wring out the cloth first to avoid getting the fan wet.

    • 4). Lay the fan face down on a table to remove the grille. The grille is held on with Phillips head screws accessible from the back of the fan. The screws are designed to not be removed from the fan housing--this prevents them from becoming lost. Do not force the screws to come out.

    • 5). Lift the rear portion of the fan by the handle to separate it from the front grille.

    • 6). Turn the fan over and clean the blades with a soft cloth and household cleaner, or with soap and water. Do not get the motor wet.

    • 7). Put the fan back together by replacing the front grille. The screw holes in the grille and body should line up. Tighten the screws gently with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
