How to Send a Laptop Signal to a TV Serial Cable
- 1). Turn off the television and shut off your laptop.
- 2). Connect the serial cable from the port on the side or back edge of your laptop to the video input on the TV.
- 3). Turn on the power for both devices.
- 4). Press the "F" key on the top of your keyboard printed with a rectangular screen icon and, at the same time, press the function key ("Fn") to send the signal to the TV through the serial cable; the exact F key to use varies with different laptop models.
