Birth of a Disease
Often I'm asked, as a medical intuitive, how dis-ease develops, and how I am able to "see" the defining moment for the formation of that dis-ease consciousness.
The answer can be present life, past life circumstances, or as in the described case study of John, a combination of both.
I get a lot of help from YOUR guides and loved ones on the "other side.
" I wish I could take credit, but I can't.
I just listen and decipher the message to help you understand.
Some people listen to the messages, others do not.
I also am asked questions such as, "Do you see things all the time?" The answer is "yes", but I learned from a beloved minister and friend that just because people are dead and contacting you, you hold them with the same obligations and contingencies as the living.
That was not only sound advice, but has helped shape the course of my practice.
Armed with this information, I often have a "rule of three" when connecting the living with departed loved ones.
Most people are not prepared to have a stranger walk up to them and say, "Oh, by the way...
" Delicate information is not to be touted.
There is a reason it is called a "gift".
I request from my guides that I receive at least three signs in order to know that the living person will be receptive to the message or information I receive.
This method has never failed me.
When people are receptive, I know in my heart it is the right thing to offer them the information.
I will attempt to explain how things work when I am out "in the world of the living" and see someone in spiritual, emotional and/or physical pain.
I have many stories, but would like to focus here on the story of a young man and his formation of osteo-arthritis.
Recently while I was visiting my hometown in Indiana, friends and I went to a local Greek restaurant.
We walked in and immediately noticed a handsome young man sitting alone in a booth-he appeared to be in his late twenties, and I will call him John.
I noticed his auric field was filled with red, and I felt very sad walking past him.
He looked up and smiled.
(That was my first sign.
) We sat in the booth directly behind him.
I grabbed the alcohol list, and noticed the restaurant served many different kinds of exotic beer.
I could not decide what to order.
John turned and suggested one.
(That was the second sign.
) As I looked at his face and observed his demeanor, I "knew" he had recently been in the military.
I thanked him.
I looked at him cautiously so he would not think I was staring.
I was taken aback when I saw a spirit of an Asian man standing behind him.
I later determined the spirit to be Japanese.
The spirit motioned to this young man with empathy, opening his arms as if to embrace him.
He was rather eerie, like he was floating, and the arm/embrace motion kept repeating, or "looping," as I observed.
I returned my attention to my friends and my meal, not wanting to open any wounds or doors by speaking too soon.
I still needed sign number three.
After I completed my meal, John asked if I enjoyed the beer, I thanked him once again and then asked if he was in the military.
He was a bit taken aback and asked how I knew.
I just said his polite demeanor was my first clue.
He stated he had been in the Navy, but had to leave due to a medical condition.
We began chatting.
I asked if his medical problem was arthritis? He replied, "osteo-arthritis".
He then asked how I knew that--I said it was just a "guess".
I then asked when his medical problems began.
As a medical intuitive, it is important to allow a client to make the connection with the first appearance of the lesson (dis-ease) and the circumstances surrounding the lesson.
The story was about to unfold, and his floating spirit "friend" was about to be heard, I just needed to make sure it wouldn't upset John.
As John continued, he explained he was on a recovery mission in the Pacific for the Hoshi Moreau, a Japanese boat that was rammed and destroyed by an American submarine.
He worked recovery for that grim mission.
His leg had buckled up under him while working with the recovery of bodies and the wreckage.
He had tried to ignore the pain over the next few weeks, but it progressed into osteo-arthritis.
Eventually his pain hit such a debilitating state he had to request a medical discharge.
At this point, I still could not understand the spirit floating behind him, but continued to listen to his story.
I then took a deep breath and asked John if he believed in reincarnation.
(This can either help answer questions or turn somebody off completely!).
He quickly said "yes".
(Sign number three.
) I breathed a sigh of relief.
I mentioned to him that this incident with the Hoshi Moreau triggered not only one past life memory, but brought back at least two where he had been in parallel circumstances.
I explained to him that his body was reacting from the memory and emotions of both past experiences.
One lifetime, fairly recently, he was captain of a frigate near Australia or New Zealand in the late 1700's or early 1800's.
He lost the boat and entire crew due to his own neglect.
While working on the Hoshi Moreau recovery, he found himself growing very resentful.
Perhaps unconsciously, on some level, he blamed the captain of the submarine for neglecting to follow proper procedure.
Most of the rescue crew felt the mishap was just a tragic mistake, but John's feelings went far beyond--he was drawn back to self-deprecation from a previous lifetime.
Simultaneously, he held a great sorrow for the captain and crew of the Japanese vessel.
There was another incident (perhaps 789AD?) that took place on a barge-like boat in the Mediterranean where he was not a captain but a crew member.
The boat was overtaken and the crew killed.
The overall lesson in that lifetime was preparation and protection-neither was carried out.
My interpretation seemed to resonate with John as he continued to explain how a body that has been in salt water for a long time becomes very soft.
He felt tremendous guilt because while he was pulling a man's body into the rescue boat, the arms became detached from the body.
He wanted to honor this man, but instead the worst happened.
This explained why the same man was now behind him trying to communicate! I then understood the "floating" and the arms reaching out.
This beautiful soul was there that day, with John, and I walked through to communicate to John that everything was fine! The spirit was even waving his arms generously indicating that John needed to release his guilt.
It was this spirit that brought us together so I could tell John everything would be ok.
Isn't it nice to know we are just as kind on the other side? I know I appreciate it! I explained the manifestation of osteo-arthritis to John, and the relationship with the base chakra, which concerns foundation and survival.
When fear or anger is present, you"leak" too much energy with worry, doubt and guilt.
Consequently, when the "red" energy, or base energy, is no longer there (because you GAVE it all away), your body will then rob from corresponding organs.
Organs related to the base, as in John's case, are your "solids": bones, joints, muscles, teeth, colon, bowel, and lower back.
He admitted he joined the Navy for the wrong reasons, to escape his "demons" (yet another base "red" chakra reference).
Arthritis is all about holding on too tightly.
He was where he did NOT want to be, but he would NOT be a quitter.
It was a good job and provided for his family, even though this particular job was not his passion.
Osteo means of the bone, and the bones and skeletal structures are solid, which is base chakra organs/systems--your foundation really.
This combination of holding on, coupled with family/group matters (Navy as well as family--in a sense, he traded one family for another...
) created the consciousness that helped to manifest his illness.
It "laid in wait" until it was triggered by the incident, which again involved a tragic intersection of families (Japanese vessel carried a tour/school group) and the Navy.
I explained the chakra references to John and told him how easily humans can "unravel.
" Eventually the energy must come from somewhere.
He needed to know that our meeting was not an accident, and that it was a wonderful, laughing spirit of a man named, "Lo," who wanted to help him literally move forward-- without pain and without fear.
John and I discussed his interests, and I offered him some advice.
I emphasized the importance of thanking his body for sharing and blessing his dis-ease and for the insight and forgiveness it has provided.
Once he turns these feelings into self-love, he will attract more individuals that hold the confidence and love for themselves, and it will soon elevate his entire existence.
Happy people attract happy people.
His language was also addressed, for he used the term "want" and "need" interchangeably.
I explained that the universe will provide--unfortunately it will keep him WANTING and keep him NEEDING until he decides he can own it.
It is time to own his future and live in the present.
We parted and both blessed the soul of the wonderful spirit of a man named "Lo".
