2015 Corvette Beats Porsche 911 and Cayman

It's official: the 2015 Corvette is more satisfying than the Porsche 911.

This comes from J.D. Power, along with the 84,000 people that bought a car in the last 90 days and responded to the firm's survey. J.D. Power released the information as part of its 2015 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) survey.

The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette topped the Midsize Premium Sport Car category, the first time it had done so since 2005.

Last year, the Porsche 911 took home this title.

High ratings on the Corvette's acceleration, the quality of the Bose stereo and its fuel economy are among consumer's favorite features, according to the survey.

"Interestingly, storage was also an advantage vs. the competition in this segment -- with owners citing more trunk space," J.D. Power reported.

J.D. Power awarded a perfect score to the 2015 Corvette for overall performance and design. The Corvette didn't fair quite as well in the overall quality category. Its score of two out of five is classified by J.D. Power as "among the rest."

The 911 isn't the only Porsche that the 2015 Corvette has beat. In its Sports Car segment, Car and Driver lists the Corvette in the top spot. Underneath (in order) is the Porsche Cayman, Cayman GT4 and Boxster. The Jaguar F-type, Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG, Alfa Romeo 4C and Audi TT/TTS, Lotus Evora and Nissan Z fill out the remain slots in the top ten.

The Corvette Z06 similarly rules Car and Driver's Performance Coupes and Convertibles category.

Coming in second is the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, followed by the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Z28, and the Dodge Challenger SRT/ SRT Hellcat.
