How to Plan a Pizza & Beer Wedding

    • 1). Calculate the budget for the reception. Estimate the cost for the venue, beer, pizza, wedding cake, music and decorations.

    • 2). Locate the reception area. Schedule the date and the time for the reception. Negotiate the costs and all details prior to signing the contract.

    • 3). Calculate the amount of beer required for the party. Multiply the number of the RSVPs by the number of hours for the reception. Estimate the number of beers your friends normally drink per hour.

    • 4). Order the kegs and schedule delivery to your reception area or purchase the amount of cases of beer required. One keg holds approximately 168 glasses of beer that are 10 ounces. Purchase cases of water, soda and a couple of bottles of rum, whiskey or scotch for those who do not drink beer.

    • 5). Prepare the pizza order by multiplying the number of RSVPs by the number of slices your friends consume. Divide this into the amount of slices per pizza.

    • 6). Contact the pizza parlor and inform them of the number of pizzas you need for the reception. Give them the date, location and time of delivery. Offer to pay in advance to secure delivery.

    • 7). Purchase the decorations for the venue. Pick up streamers, a banner, tablecloths, plates, napkins, utensils and bowls. Buy balloons, candles and vases for the centerpiece.

    • 8). Order a wedding cake. Discuss the details of icing, fillings and size with the baker. Schedule a date for delivery or pick up.

    • 9). Decide on the music. Hire a disk jockey for dancing or prepare a collection of CDs for the wedding reception.

Decorate the reception area. Put tablecloths down and then the flower arrangements in the middle. Lay out the plates, utensils, napkins and cups. Designate a spot for the pizzas and the cake. Tape banners and streamers on the wall, and a sign-in book with balloons at the entrance.

Buy disposable digital cameras and give each guest one as they enter. Request the guests take as many pictures as possible during the reception for you. Designate a drop box for the cameras near the entrance.
