A Brief Word On Digestive Problems
Digestive issues come in many shapes and sizes.
But no matter what kind you may encounter, the vast majority of them are caused by what we eat.
The digestive issues I'm talking about are things like gastric reflux, indigestion, constipation, IBS and food intolerances.
It is the food that we're eating that is causing our problems.
It is the vast array of processed foods, things that come in boxes and bags, that are absolutely destroying our digestive systems.
If you actually read the labels of what's in these foods you would be horrified and never eat them again.
One of my clients, a prominent chemist, took her science manuals to the grocery store with her.
She was horrified at how many dangerous chemicals were added to the foods she normally ate.
She worked with those dangerous chemicals and knew how just a little bit can destroy the body.
You don't need a chemical manual to understand.
Our bodies instinctively know when we're eating bad food.
Things like indigestion, diarrhea and constipation are how our bodies handle food they don't like.
Gastric reflux, IBS and food intolerances are signs of actual damage to our systems.
For the vast majority of us, these digestive problems can be solved, not with drugs and prescription medications, for with simple food changes that make huge differences.
One of the biggest food changes that I recommend is to go for real natural fruits, vegetables and quality meats.
Healthy food does not come in a box.
The vitamins, enzymes and antioxidants that are touted as being healthy for our hearts and our minds cannot survive the harsh conditions or high heat that are needed to box food.
So where does that leave us? It actually leaves us with quite a lot of food.
Crockpots, stews and slow cooking methods are perfect for the people on the go.
A crockpot meal can be put together the night before and left to cook all day.
You can come home to an absolutely delicious and healthy meal that takes less than 15 minutes to put together.
I made a pot roast with over 5 pounds of vegetables and with cutting up all of the vegetables took me 20 minutes to put together.
Other quick cooking methods, like grilling, stirfry and quick frying, let you focus on making healthy meals in a short amount of time using the basic ingredients of quality meat and vegetables.
A 10 minute meal can be made by buying beef cubes and frozen vegetables.
Tossing them all together in a pan with a little bit of the sesame oil and spices can produce a large and healthy meal in about 10 minutes.
But don't take my word for it.
There are chefs on TV, hundreds of dedicated cookbooks and millions of recipes online dedicated to cooking meals in under 30 minutes.
Just focus on eating quality meats and vegetables and skipping boxed food and you can reverse most if not all of your digestive problems.
