How to Save a Photographer's Pictures to the Computer
- 1). Ask your photographer if they have a digital card with your photos on them. If so, take the card and insert it into a card reader on your computer if your computer or printer has an SD card reader. Open Windows Explorer and copy the pictures from the card to your computer. You can do this by selecting the card and then selecting the files, right-clicking and choosing "Copy." Navigate to the folder on your computer where you want the files and then right-click and select "Paste."
- 2). Scan the photos if you have only prints. This may be the simplest method but does not give the best quality. Connect a USB scanner to your computer. Put a photo on the device with the image facing down. Press the scan button and windows should find the device and open the scan wizard. Pick the properties for the photo, such as quality, and click "OK." A copy will be saved to your computer.
- 3). Send the photos to be developed or take them to a store that has photo services such as Walmart. If you have the negatives and you don't have a scanner, you can have the negatives developed and the developing place can have them put on a CD for you. Take the CD and insert it into your computer; select the photos and copy them to your hard drive.
