Why Magnesium Benefits the Body ?

Magnesium deficiency in humans was first described in Medical Literature in 1934.
I think we've been on the downhill slide ever since.
57% of the US population does not meet the US RDA (Required Daily Allowance) for dietary intake of Magnesium.
I have read more recent studies citing 70-80 % deficiencies of magnesium.
Why the big concern? The National Institute of Health (NIH) lists magnesium as being necessary for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body.
This vital mineral aids in producing energy inside the cells.
This mineral works hand in hand with calcium.
Calcium makes the muscles contract while magnesium helps the muscles relax.
So magnesium helps relieve muscle cramping and spasms, relieves colic and spastic bowel conditions and helps prevent heart attacks.
Combine magnesium with vitamin B6 and you can relieve most of PMS symptoms along with dissolving calcium oxalate kidney stones.
But watch that calcium intake in supplement form.
Over consumption of calcium can actually contribute to magnesium deficiency.
We've talked about your body being over acidic before on these pages and that is no different here in magnesium deficiency.
Magnesium along with potassium are the first minerals to be lost in an over-acid condition of the body.
Remember we want to keep our bodies in the 7.
3 ph range on the ph scale.
When we get below that number we are susceptible to disease and or worse.
Alcohol, diuretics, diarrhea, fluoride, and vitamin D can deplete the body of magnesium.
How do I know if I am Magnesium deficient? Well odds are you probably are.
But your Doctor can tell by giving you a standard serum magnesium blood test.
Conditions that might prevail if you are severely magnesium deficient are many but I will list a few here.
Abdominal Pain and Inflammation, Adrenals (exhaustion, weakness and burnout).
Angina, Anxiety, Arrhythmia and Arthritis.
Colon (spastic), Confusion.
Cramps (leg and menstrual).
This list is long and goes on and on.
Many, many people have magnesium deficiencies Migraines, if your Migraines are accompanied by muscular tension or cramping.
Anything that feels too tight.
Constipation, heart palpitations, anxiety, insomnia or fatigue.
Magnesium deficiency may be a factor.
Always stay very hydrated with water, alkaline water if you can find it and watch whatever else you drink.
Soda is your worst enemy in today's world.
Have a beer instead it's actually better for you.
Too many people consume several Soda's a Day.
You cannot drink enough water or even alkaline water to combat the acid content of even two sodas.
You would have to drink 800 Oz's of Alkaline Water just to get your body back to where it was (ph wise) prior to drinking those two sodas.
Now wonder so many people get colds and the flu! Our Society's Immune systems are at an all-time low here in America.
Yes Magnesium deficiency along with Iodine deficiencies are at epidemic levels here in the USA but what are we doing about it? Nothing that I can see from our Health Care Industry! Health Care today is all about what drug can I prescribe for you to take care of that symptom? What was the cause of your condition? No one cares today.
A good general Vitamin and Mineral supplement Program will do wonders for your health.
It's like you mechanic says.
"Pay me now or pay me later".
In the End we all pay one way or another.
It's the quality of life that I look for in myself and my peers.
