General Hospital Daily Recap for May 5, 2009
Sonny returns Olivia's phone and then asks for a glass of wine. Olivia relents, but she reiterates that she's not revealing Carly's whereabouts. Sonny confesses that he doesn't want to go home; it's too normal there. Sometimes he has to remind himself what his marriage is supposed to be about. He's unhappy that Claudia is pregnant and says he didn't want to sleep with her. What kind of a statement is that?
Olivia starts in: Claudia is playing him, she's dangerous, she gets a lot out of having Sonny's baby. Olivia nearly slips, too - she mentions Michael but just lets his name hang there. But it's easy to follow her thought process if one knows the truth.
Claudia is writhing on the floor screaming for Max when Ric enters the room. He offers to take her to GH, again stating the baby might be his, but Claudia refuses and keeps calling for Max. Ric says he isn't here. I thought he and his brother were bodyguards. Claudia realizes she has no choice, she's in too much pain to think, so she lets Ric drive her. When they get to the hospital, Claudia is nasty to Kelly and keeps ordering Ric out. Epiphany calls Sonny, which further infuriates Claudia. Ric figures it out immediately - if she loses the baby, she doesn't want Sonny to know. She's going to keep on being pregnant. Sonny arrives and assures her she's not going through this pregnancy alone. Kelly informs them that the baby is fine. Claudia is dehydrated and needs to remember to eat.
Luke catches Ethan with his hand in the petty cash, though this time, it's empty. Luke realizes that Ethan wants to split town as soon as the DNA results come in, which Ethan hopes are negative. Tracy wanders in. She tells Ethan she'd love to have a good relationship with both of her sons. Luke admits the traditional father role doesn't suit him, but family does, and he genuinely likes Ethan. Whether Ethan is his son or not, he hopes that he'll stick around.
Rebecca and Nikolas are about to make love, but Rebecca stops it. Nikolas is drunk, and though she wants to be with him, she doesn't want it that way. She invites Nikolas to call her when he's sober. She leaves, but returns a short time later. There's a storm and the "guy in the little boat" won't take her to the mainland. Can she spend the night? Nikolas says yes. Later, Rebecca appears in a white nightgown set that was laid out for her. She feels like a princess - Arthur brought her brandy and tea. Then she sees the look on Nikolas' face and realizes that the set must be Emily's. Nikolas suggests that she get some sleep. He dozes on the couch and dreams about the night Emily was murdered. Abruptly, he wakes up. I love how Coleman calls Rebecca "Emily: The Sequel." Too good. Except for the black roots.
Elizabeth and Lucky get the kids to bed and then have take-out. They talk about how they always end up together, which isn't reallly the samed as being together. Elizabeth claims to be over Jason. Llucky takes responsibility for the failure of their marriage the last time, and says if he hadn't been an addict, Jason wouldn't have come into the picture, nor would Maxie. They agree to take things slow and kiss. Cameron comes in screaming that Mommy and Daddy are getting back together. He's one of the most adorable kids around.
