Penny's Holiday Tip

I'm a little over three years sober, this will be my fourth Christmas enjoying my sobriety. The first Christmas has been the hardest (so far).

I found, through lots of prayer to my Higher Power, the courage to turn down all the parties, etc. where there would be alcohol. On the night of the party I would have attended in the past, I made plans to be active with my family. We watched Christmas specials and wrapped presents.

Getting trough it wasn't easy, but after the holidays were over I reflected on how enjoyable it was to actually remember the season. I also attended extra meetings, and made a point to do lots of service work. I'm saying prayers for all of us who are trying to be clean and free!
