Body scanners are the TSA's latest method of trying to prevent people from smuggle contraband and weapons aboard planes destined for the United States. But there has been a substantial pushback against the scanners which are already being accused of producing cancer and of intruding on basis civil liberties and constitutional rights, but there are made ways to avoid appearing naked on the scanners.

The best way to avoid going through the scanners is to simply refuse. This is your right as a citizen, if you are one of the people chosen to go through the scanner. However, you need to bear in mind that in this event that you choose to refuse the scanner you may be given an invasive pat down that could be emotionally difficult for some people. This is because the security guard will have to search your body in a manner that is much more invasive to the pat down that you may be used to before boarding those flights from Philadelphia to Quito or flights from Oakland to Cancun. By touching a customer inappropriately, even if the customer is being searched, the customer may allege that the official has assaulted them and that they will therefore need to be arrested by airport police. This has enabled some people to leave airports without having to go through the body scanner or suffer the invasive pat down. It'll require you to stay calm, assert your constitutional right, and constantly demand to be referred to some in a more superior position.
