How to Install a Dish Turbo

    • 1). Determine a location for the Dish Turbo installation. You will need a clear line of sight to the southern sky with no obstructions.

    • 2). Mount the antenna mast to the location you have selected. Make sure the mast is straight and level to make it easier to find the satellite signal later.

    • 3). Attach the dish to the mast by placing the bracket on the back of the dish over the end of the mast. Point the dish south and set the azimuth angle you retrieved earlier. The bracket on the dish has two bolts that you will need to tighten to hold the dish into place.

    • 4). Set the skew and the elevation on the dish assembly on the back of the dish. For both you will need to loosen the bolt so you can move the guide freely. Match up the number you need and re-tighten the bolt.

    • 5). Run the coaxial cables from the house to the dish. The number of cables you will run will depend on how many receivers you are running inside the house. Push them through the mast starting at the bottom and continuing until they come out of the end. Continue running the cables through the LNB arm that extends from the bottom of the dish starting at the end closest to the dish.

    • 6). Attach the coax cables to the LNB. The LNB is the part of the dish that has the "eyes" looking back at the dish. You can connect the cables by twisting the F-connectors on the end of the cables onto the connections on the LNB.

    • 7). Place the LNB onto the end of the arm and secure it with a bolt that will slip through the LNB and the arm. Tighten down the bolt until it's secure.

    • 8). Check the signal strength with a signal strength meter or with the dish pointing options on the receiver. If the signal isn't strong enough, just move the dish left or right about 15 degrees and re-check. Continue this process until you have the signal strength you need.
