Car Scratch Repair Tips

A car is probably a milestone for most of us who belong to a middle class society. You pull your chest out with pride and walk proudly on the street on the day you book your brand new car. At the same time, think of the agony you get, if your brand new car gets a scratch on its body. Wherever you go, you always try to park your car at the emptiest corner of the parking place. The most painstaking situation arises when after taking all precautions, you find a thin line on the nicely painted bonnet of your car.

Most of the times, you will misjudge a very thin mark with a scratch. Every car is generally painted with numerous coats of paints like, base color, primer, final paint etc. Whenever the body of your car rubs with other surface or with other material, it may happen that the line of impact damages the upper coats of paints leaving the base color or the primer intact. In this case, the line is not a scratch and is easily recoverable. If at all, your car happens to form any scratch which has damaged the base color also then you will need some sort of methodology to get rid of the scratch. Following are some methods to remove car scratch completely:

*If the scratch on your car has damaged the base color, you should take to a nearby garage and hand it over to a mechanic. After doing some buffing and waxing work the mechanic will be able to remove the scratch completely.

*The best way to identify how far the scratch has affected the chassis of your car is to put your fingernail at ninety degree on top of scratch. You will at once come to know the severity of the impact. If the impact is not so deep, rub the adjacent surrounding area of the scratch with a zero paper and repaint the area. This will do the needful. Just remember to match the color of the paint you will apply.

*Stubborn marks from adhesive or a rubber sometimes may appear as a scratch. You can remove it with adhesive remover or aerosol tar. Paint remover or thinner can also help you in removing old marks on the surface.

*Sometimes good quality of wax can fill out the scratch mark if the upper coating of paint is partially damaged. Apply soap water gently and prepare the surface before waxing the mark.

*Sometimes simply repainting the area of the scratch will remove the scratch completely.
