- These machines use two principles to get a design onto the desired surface: heat and pressure. Often consisting of aluminum (a terrific heat conductor) and some type of heavy plate, the design is pressed and held to the surface of the blank item.
- The uses for heat transfer machines are nearly endless. They can help create at-home craft projects, school assignments or interior decorating items. Commercially, businesses can place their brand or logo on a variety of durable items to distribute to customers, or potential clients.
- In craftwork, heat transfer machines are used to imprint decals, words and designs onto fabric items such as towels, clothing and cloth banners. Certain machines can also be used on ceramic items, such as coffee mugs.
