8 Simple Ways to Exercise With a Busy Schedule

Finding time to exercise when you are busy can be tough.
But look at it this way; you only need to find 20-30 minutes a couple of times a week to get a good workout in.
Everyone can fit this into their schedule; that is just 1 hour less of watching TV a week.
Follow these 8 tips to get a good workout in during the week.
1.
Exercise in the morning As the day goes on you are less likely to exercise; your motivation might be low or you might find yourself saying that you are "too busy" to exercise.
Waking up 30 minutes earlier for an early morning jog or hitting the treadmill is a great way to fit exercise in and start your day off on the right track.
2.
Exercise in your lunch break We all get an hour a day to eat lunch.
Many of us don't use this time to good effect.
Instead we work through lunch and eat a sandwich at our desk.
Why not go for a walk or stretch at your desk? You can even hit the gym in your lunch break.
An hour is usually enough time to exercise, shower and get back to your desk ready to start working again.
3.
Use your commute to good effect This might not be possible for everyone but if you live relatively close to your place of work then ditch the car.
Instead of getting angry at being stuck in traffic why not decide to walk or cycle? It is an easy way to fit exercise into your schedule and you will save money on gas and parking too.
4.
Take advantage of the weekend If you really can't find any time to exercise during the working week then you should take full advantage of the weekend.
Instead of lying in or lazing around the house all day, go for a jog or hit the gym.
5.
Buy home workout equipment You can buy an exercise bike, treadmill or elliptical trainer quite cheaply these days on Amazon.
This means that you don't need to leave your house to get a good workout.
You can even exercise while watching TV.
6.
Find a workout partner Despite out best efforts it is sometimes hard to stay motivated.
Exercising with a workout partner maximises our chances of sticking to a workout schedule.
7.
Exercise after work Most of us head straight home after work with the intention of exercising after we eat dinner.
Once we get home, we find ourselves slumped on the sofa and unable to find the motivation to start exercising.
Avoid falling into this trap by heading straight to the gym after work.
If you enjoy playing sport such as basketball or football then why not organise a game after work with your colleagues? It will be fun and is a great way to fit in some exercise in your day.
8.
Do the little things The little things are parking further away from your workplace, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, doing more housework, delivering documents by hand instead of email, using the restroom on another floor etc.
Doing these small things every day soon adds up to a good workout.
