- Value of the goods is less than $100 is considered a misdemeanor, and is a maximum 90 days in jail, and/or a $500 fine
- Value of the goods is less than $500, but greater than $100, the maximum is 18 months in jail and/or a $500 fine
- A felony theft occurs if the value of the goods exceeds $500. The maximum penalty for this is 15 years in prison and/or a $25,000 fine
