How to Apply Pond Liners

- 1). Place two inches of sand over the bottom of the dug out pond. This will prevent weeds and rocks from pushing through the liner.
- 2). Drape the pond liner over the entire bottom of the pond. Leave excess liner on all sides of the pond. Ask any friends or family available to help; placing the liner is definitely a multiple-person job.
- 3). Place rocks and bricks around the pond's edges to prevent the liner from slipping when the pond is filled with water.
- 4). Fill the pond with water. Reposition the rocks and bricks if the liner pulls or appears too taut in any one area.
- 5). Cut off visible excess liner using scissors or a utility knife.
