Treating Adult Acne - 3 Steps to Clearer Skin

If you are an adult, still fighting acne breakouts, you may be wondering if treating adult acne can be done, or do you just have to live with it? Well, as a former adult acne sufferer I am here to tell you that you do not have to live with it! Here are three tips to consider when treating your acne.
Three Tips For Clearer Skin Step #1: Embrace Herbal Remedies Don't be afraid of herbal remedies.
No longer thought of as a bunch of "hocus pocus", these herbs have been proven to drastically improve acne in adult patients.
  • Echinacea, Calendula, Tea tree oil, or Goldenseal
  • Black Current Seed Oil
  • Cnidium Seed and Honeysuckle Flower
  • Lavender or Chamomile Tea (for stress - the #1 cause of acne)
Step #2: Watch the Chemicals You may be using harsh chemicals such as benzoyl peroxide or Salicylic Acid, and the honest truth is they could be the leading cause of our continuing to have acne breakouts.
As adults we are so programmed to continue to use these products they act as a security blanket, but it has been found that the drying effects on our skin is causing the breakouts.
Not only are you making your skin dry and cracked, these chemicals often cause the acne to come back worse.
Step #3: Moisturizer May Be Your Number One Treatment Once you go through puberty and the Ph levels in your body balance out don't be afraid to moisturize if need be.
If your skin becomes overly dry it will work overtime to produce the moisture it needs to heal itself.
This is often above and beyond what it truly needs to heal, and the excess oil and buildup can result in acne breakouts.
