The Bottom Line

Marsha Moore has found a new angle for a London travel guide: break the day down hour by hour and what can you do at each time?

Of course, many of the ideas can be done at different times but she's tried to choose those most fitting to the time of day, i.e. clubbing at night, and eateries are chosen at mealtimes.

Guide Review - 24 Hours London

I see a lot of London travel guides. Heck, I write an online travel guide so it takes a lot to impress me but I like this idea. 24 Hours London is one of those books you pick up and think you'll just flick through then suddenly you find yourself marking loads of pages with ideas you'd like to try. Or at last it got me like that.

I am amazed by the in depth knowledge of London Marsha Moore has acquired in only 5 years here. There are the occasional comments that suggest locals use certain phrases I've never heard (in a lifetime here) but mostly it's spot on.

I've never considered setting out in the early hours of the morning to walk along London's ley lines or to go to party in a Victorian bathhouse at night but at least now I know these are options in London.

As well as the hourly breakdown, the book also includes a few themed full day itineraries such as family, romance, etc.

Actually I was surprised how many ideas have the 'family' symbol as often these fun travel guides only consider the twenty-somethings but Marsha has thought of us all.

I'm finding it hard to fault as it's a really great travel guide. There has been some excellent research and I'll certainly be trying out lots of the ideas soon.
