Rules of Flying for Carry-On Luggage

    Liquids, Gels and Aerosols

    • Passengers are allowed to carry on liquids, gels and aerosols in containers that are 3 oz. or smaller. All containers must be in one quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag that must be taken out for X-ray.

    Sharp Objects

    • Sharp objects such as box cutters, knives (except plastic or round bladed butter), razor blades, swords and ice picks are prohibited from being carried on. Scissors with blades less than 4 inches long are permitted.

    Sporting Goods

    • Baseball bats, hockey sticks, golf clubs, ski poles and other sports equipment are not permitted as carry on.

    Guns, Explosives and Other Weapons

    • No weapons are allowed, including guns, any explosives, flammable items, disabling chemicals, mace and stun guns.

    Better Safe than Sorry

    • If you are unsure whether an item is allowed to be carried on, it is better to check it than having to deal with airport security incidents.
