Dispel That Myth That Eggs Are Bad For You
I believe it is safe to say that most of you have always believed that your eggs are bad for you.
In fact, this is a classic example of hanging on to old thoughts.
That is not your fault as for years the so called nutrition experts cautioned you that your eggs were unhealthy for you.
I am hopefully going to dispel that myth.
I believe that those gifts you received from the henhouse are actually one of the richest sources of cholesterol in your diet.
Did I hear you say that since cholesterol clogs up your arteries so your eggs must raise your risk of a heart attack or a stroke, right? You are wrong, I am happy to say.
Many recent studies suggest that this theory that eggs are bad for you is nothing but malarkey.
There was that famous Framingham Heart Study, which showed that your high blood cholesterol caused heart attacks but found no connection between you eating your eggs and your cardiovascular disease.
Another study showed no increase in heart attacks in those of you that ate one egg every day.
Ok, so you say how can that be? Well guys here it is, it turns out that only about 25 per cent of the cholesterol in your blood comes from your food.
How do you like those apples? Your other 75 percent is made by your liver which produces a great deal of cholesterol when you eat sources of saturated fat like cheeseburgers, which just happens to be something your eggs are low in.
Your eggs can fit into your balanced diet; they supply you with useful nutrients.
If you look around you can find eggs that are enriched with your healthy omega -3 fatty acids.
The fact is that two eggs every day will not budge most people's cholesterol but keep in mind that each egg contains about 200 milligrams of cholesterol and the American Heart Association recommends consuming no more than 300 milligrams per day; so plan to eat your omelet instead of, rather than beside your home fries and bacon.
So the myth that your eggs are bad for you has finally been broken, and as always you must eat well to be well.
