"Walker, Texas Ranger" was a program that concentrated on law enforcement action and drama.
Each episode lasts an hour.
Chuck Norris played a Texas Ranger named Cordell Walker.
When Walker was a little boy, a few criminals tried to rob his parents while he was walking with them somewhere.
His father put up a good fight and knocked them down; however, he ended up being stabbed to death.
The mother was also fatally stabbed.
Walker was subsequently raised by an uncle of Cherokee blood and he learned how to fight and do plenty of other things.
Walker eventually became a Texas Ranger.
He lived in a ranch and rode horses occasionally.
Walker's partner was Jimmy Travette, who was played by a black actor named Clarence Gilyard.
Walker and Travette were not always partners.
In fact, Walker came to Travette's rescue as he was being beaten up by four criminals at one point when he worked for a law enforcement agency away from Walker.
Walker and Travette became partners later.
Walker and Travette ranked highly in the Texas Rangers organization.
Travette did not really know karate like Walker; however, he was physically strong and he was a good fighter.
Walker's girlfriend was Alex Cahill, a District Attorney who was played by Sherry Wilson.
At one point in a public establishment, Cahill scolded Walker for being obnoxious while he was testifying in court.
While she was scolding him, he kissed her and said, "Happy New Year's!" Subsequently, the two characters fell in love.
They married each other toward the end of the series.
Walker and Travette were joined by two additional Texas Rangers later in the series.
The two new characters were Frances Gage and Sydney Cook.
Gage was played by Judson Mills and Cook was played by Nia Peeples.
Gage and Cook were very good at martial arts.
"Walker, Texas Ranger" was a show packed with great action.
