How to Copy a DVD Onto an SD Card for My MP3 Player
- 1). Determine what video file types your MP3 player accepts. This information can usually be gleaned from the product manual.
- 2). Insert your SD card into the SD card slot on your computer. If your computer does not have an SD slot, then place it into a USB card reader/writer and insert that into an available USB slot on your PC. Your PC will recognize the SD card as "Removable Media." A pop up window may appear asking you what you would like to do with the SD card. Click "Cancel."
- 3). Open your preferred DVD conversion program. Look for one online if you don't already have one on your PC. Then download, install and open the software.
- 4). Insert the DVD into your computer's DVD-RW drive. Click "Add" or "Load DVD" (depending on your program) to prepare your disc for conversion. Then click "Output Format" or "DVD to Video Format" and choose the video file format compatible with your MP3 device that you ascertained from the product manual earlier. Depending on your player, this will likely be WMV, MP4 or AVI.
- 5). Choose the "Removable Media" drive (your SD card) as the destination folder for your converted DVD file. Then click "Convert." When conversion is complete, eject the SD card or USB card reader/writer and insert the SD card into your MP3 player. You newly converted video file should now be available from your MP3 device's media/video player.
