• Wearing a breast form and mastectomy bra offers the comfort of being more balanced. It can also help in preventing back and neck pain, as well as help you maintain the posture you are used to.
  
  

Availability

• Mastectomy bras are sometimes at least partially covered by insurance when you have a mastectomy and decide to have a breast form made. Your doctor may write you a prescription for one or you can buy one outright without a prescription, over the counter.
  
  

Appearance

• When you are fitted for a mastectomy bra, you will be amazed at how natural it will look. You can still feel good about how you look, and wear clothes and underclothing, including bras, that make you look pretty, professional or even sexy.
  
  

Time Frame

• You can be fitted for and begin wearing your breast form and mastectomy bra within eight weeks of having your surgery.
