What is the Best Time of the Year for a Disney Trip?

    Tourist Season

    • Tourist season for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World takes place during the summer months (June, July and August) and the two weeks of Christmas vacation. Crowds are at their peak during those times.

    Off Season

    • Off season takes place from September through May. Crowds are much smaller then, although the parks can close earlier in the evening and offer fewer extra attractions (such as fireworks displays).

    Spring Break

    • Spring break, which is from mid-March until mid-April, tends to be busier than early in the year (January through March), because students on vacation flock to the Disney parks.

    Holiday Weekends

    • Holiday weekends, such as Presidents' Day or Columbus Day, translate into larger crowds at the Disney parks.

    Weather

    • Weather isn't usually a problem for the Disney parks, because both California and Florida have mild climates. Summers can get very warm, however, and hurricane season in Florida hits its peak during late summer and early fall.
