Glasgow To Tenerife - Great For The Family
Tenerife is exceptional together with its all year round seaside weather with the south seeing the largest part of the sunshine.
In the summertime, Tenerife is exceptionally hot, but not uncomfortable making it a much loved place for British holiday travlers who truly want to run away from the rain and take it easy with the welcoming sun gently on their skin.
Mount Teide is a stunning active Volcano that's can be seen from many of Tenerife's high points, making Tenerife fantastic with it's all year round sun for the family to peek the children's imagination or just relax by the beaches.
Tenerife is jam packed with so much entertainment for all ages, water parks, pubs, clubs and many fantastic shows; best thing, Tenerife is only a four-hour flight away from the UK.
Every year myself and a couple of acquaintances spend a long weekend abroad, with so much to do in the canaries, we just keep going back for more, they do say you can never get too much of a good thing, so for that long weekend, we live the life, beers, swimming and lazing about like total seaside bums.
Then around 1pm stroll down the town slowly walking by the open plan restaurants taking in the smell of cooking and the sea air, once we make a decision on a place to try, we sit back on the chairs taking in the suns warmth and sipping a cold beer, you know when the glass is all cold looking and the beer just hits the location, then we take pleasure in our food, nowhere to be and no rush to get there.
After lunch we go exploring to see what places are there from last time and what's new, I know many people hate all the young folks handing out flyers and cards, but when you're just there for a long weekend, it lets you know what's on and where to see it.
At this stage, our evening is planned so we all feel like we have accomplished a great days planning, and deserve a beer, so time to head back to the beach or a good town pub to reward our efforts with a couple of beers, if life was always this care free, to be fair we couldn't drink like this every day, but a long weekend is cool.
Now it's about time for dinner, being our first day, we always look for a good Chinese restaurant, nothing beets a good curry and cold beer for dinner especially on the first night and some afternoon beers, I know going to Tenerife and eating Chinese, never mind, we'll try a local dish tomorrow.
Funny; we all agree afterwards that the best Chinese are back home in the UK but every year we do the same thing, I guess there's never too much of a good thing. Now we've had a great day, good dinner, it's time to walk about the shops - every year it's leather belts, jeans, funny tea-shirts and jewellery and other stuff you don't look twice at back home in the UK, but in Tenerife we are somehow drawn to it.
After a crazy day of fun and great banter, it's time to find a cool pub, you know the kind that play dance music, kind of a place you go to before the night club.
