Mothers Deserve More Appreciation

Why is it that everything moms do on a daily basis gets taken for granted? Mothers deserve more appreciation and respect for all they do day in and day out without asking for anything in return.
Whether they are stay at home moms or working moms their role has been to keep the household from falling to pieces.
There was a time when the expression a woman's place is in the home was acceptable.
I want to be cautious about uttering these words as they are not my personal beliefs.
But the facts are what they are.
A woman's role was to raise the children, keep the house clean, prepare meals, and take care of their man.
Society over the years has realized that mothers deserve more appreciation or better yet women do.
First was the right to vote and then to smoke before you knew it they were tossing their bras and other restricting clothing into the trash can.
Ah the late 60's and 70's.
Even through the women's lib movement their role was still unchanged in the home.
Mothers deserve more appreciation for being the glue that holds the family together.
When was the last time you took the time to show your mother how much you appreciate her? I remember reading an article not too long ago about a mother who went on strike for a day.
She did what she wanted to do.
Slept in, made herself breakfast, curled up to a book, and took a break from her expected role.
Her children and husband didn't know what to make of this.
When her son wanted to know whats for dinner she pointed him to the refrigerator.
Even her husband was wondering what was going on with her.
They were so accustomed to her role that they didn't know how to react.
But they survived at least the day.
Her demonstration proved a point to her family.
The next day the kids were picking up their room, her husband prepared meals and they even asked her if she needed anything.
The article did not say how long this new treatment lasted but the rest of the family knew they didn't want to be doing what she did all day long.
At least for a day this family realized that mothers deserve more appreciation.
Being a mother and running a family is an educational experience and a lot of work.
I recall when I was a young father and had two little ones in diapers.
I was injured at work not seriously but enough to keep me from working for 9 months.
So my significant other went to work for a short period of time and I was Mr.
Mom.
Two boys in diapers, dealing with one who was asthmatic, feeding the boys, taking them in for a nap, and keeping the house clean was a lot of work.
What I gained from this experience was mothers deserve more appreciation and working a regular job is a heck of a lot easier.
Isn't it time you showed your mother how much she is appreciated.
A card, a phone call, a hug
