Though most people believe that Amish country is found only in Pennsylvania, the area around the northern Indiana town of Goshen also boasts a vibrant Amish population. Quaint shops, cozy cafés and Victorian era homes can be found in the historic town, while trails and biking paths offer many ways to see the surrounding farmland, along with the Elkhart River Greenway and the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail. Though in town you can find many chain hotels and motels, it's the bed and breakfasts outside town that are the main attraction. - Four miles east of Goshen, surrounded by farmland is the 100-year-old barn which now serves as the Ol' Barn Bed & Breakfast. Fully restored by its owners, Lynette and Conrad Showalter, this B&B features modern comforts like whirlpool tubs, along with kitchen areas. Start your day with the Ol' Barn's full breakfast, then head out and explore Indiana's Amish country. Conrad and Lynette are always happy to share their knowledge of the area, so you can make the most of your visit.

springview.com - When Royers Bed and Breakfast was first built, Indiana was still on the frontier. The Swedish style log house has enjoyed its tree-surrounded perch on a hill since 1836. In fact the land under the house was titled by Andrew Jackson and was one Elkhart County's first settled homes. The two story house, whose hardwood logs are as solid as when they were first cut, has been restored and now features many modern conveniences. After a deliciously sophisticated breakfast of a tasty quiche or walnut and cracked wheat pancakes served with fruit, it's time to explore Goshen and the surrounding Amish-Mennonite Country.
