German Air Travel Information
- When traveling to Germany from America, plan to go between January and March and September and October to get the cheapest, off-season rates. Many major airlines offer prices that are hundreds of dollars less than the usual price.
- Most major American airlines travel to Germany, but the most popular is Continental Airlines. When you arrive in Germany, the major domestic airline is Lufthansa.
- When traveling around Germany or other parts of Europe, flying is often cheaper than taking a train because of the growing number of budget airlines. These airlines include Ryanair and easyJet.
- The major airports in Germany are located in Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin. Keep in mind that Frankfurt-Hahn airport is not the same as Frankfurt International Airport. Frankfurt-Hahn is used by many budget airlines and is located about an hour from Frankfurt.
- It is suggested passengers arrive at least 90 minutes before their scheduled flight's departure time because of Germany's extensive air travel procedures.
