How to Register a Cell Phone Number for Public Use
- 1). Go to the National Do Not Call Registry's website (see Resources) and click on the "Register a Phone Number" option listed on the left-hand side of the screen.
- 2). Complete "Step 1" by providing the phone number of your cell phone as well as your email address. Click "Register" when you have filled out both parts of the form.
- 3). Go to your email account and click on the email from the National Do Not Call Registry that will be in your in-box. Once you open it, you will see the option to "Confirm" your registration. Click on it to confirm.
- 4). Verify that your cell phone has been registered by returning to the Do Not Call Registry's Web page, clicking on "Verify a Registration" and completing the provided form. The form will be identical to the registration form. Once this is completed, a verification will be emailed to you. You will now know that your cell phone has been officially registered.
