- 1). Fill a paper cup half full with water. Use a plastic spoon to add spoonfuls of Plaster of Paris to the water and mix until it attains the consistency of pancake batter.
- 2). Spoon in three tablespoons of craft glue and mix thoroughly. The glue will give the plaster a firmer body when dry and a more stable surface to attach magnets and pins to.
- 3). Pour the plaster mixture into a candy mold. Pick up the mold and tap it back onto your work surface to remove air bubbles.
- 4). Apply a liberal amount of craft glue to the back of a magnet or pin back.
- 5). Insert the magnet or pin back into the wet plaster. Do not press too hard. You want the magnet or pin to indent the plaster but not cover their fronts. Allow the plaster and glue to dry thoroughly.
- 6). Paint the brooches, as desired, using acrylic paints.
