How to Use a Canon Powershot SX100

    • 1). Slide and hold the battery cover lock. Then slide the battery cover out and up to open it. Insert the batteries, slide the memory card into the provided slot and close the cover.

    • 2). Press the power button to turn on the camera, push the "Menu" key and use the arrow keys to scroll to the "Setup" menu. Use the up and down keys to scroll to "Date/Time," and push the "Function/Set" button. Using the arrow keys, adjust the hour, minute, month, day and year. Push "Function/Set" to confirm, and push the "Menu" key to return to the main screen.

    • 3). Turn the mode dial to the "Auto" setting. Point the camera at the subject, push the shutter button down halfway to focus, then fully to capture the image.

    • 4). Turn the mode dial to the video recorder icon setting to video. Point at the subject of your video and push the shutter button to begin recording. When finished, push the shutter button once more to stop.

    • 5). Push the "Playback" key to view all media captured -- use the arrow keys to scroll through the images. If you wish to delete an image, push the "Erase" key, navigate to "Yes" and push the "Function/Set" key to confirm.
