It also made a new sales record by selling 75,000 cars in the first year itself. The Korean car, Kia dominated the market of compact utility cars, in the first year there. Not just that it even outpaced Nissan Cube and MINI Paceman. Korea's Soul won many design awards as well, including the Red Dot award because of its unique boxy shape. Apart from all of this, there is an ever growing market for used cars for sale as well for Korean cars.
This April (year 2014), Australia signed a free trade agreement with South Korea. This is believed to reduce the cost of vehicles for Australian consumers. This action is also triggered because Holden, Ford and Toyota have committed to ending their auto manufacturing in Australia.
