How to Get the Best Score at Bookworm

    • 1). Create words containing at least five letters. Watch for endings that can be added to words such as "ed," "s," "es," "er" and "ing." More letters equal more points.

    • 2). Do not use letters that are below the burning tiles. Burning tiles appear randomly and allowing the tiles to hit the bottom of the screen results in game loss. If possible, use the burning tiles in a word to make them disappear.

    • 3). Discover short words you can create with uncommon letters. Words including "J," "Qu," "V," "X" and "Z" result in higher scores. For instance, words short words containing the letter "J" include JAD, JAB, JOG, JOW, JET and JUN. Short words containing the letters "Qu" include QUEY, QUAG, QUID, QUAI AND QUOD. Short words containing the letter "X" include AXE, GOX, FOX, FAX, SAX, SOX, NIX and MIX. Short words containing the letter "V" include VAT, VAU, VEE, VIM, VIA, VAW, VOW and VET. Short words containing the letter "Z" include ZAP, ZED, ZIP, ZIG, ZAG, ZOO, ZIG and BIZ.

    • 4). Clear out the tiles containing difficult letters as soon as possible to avoid the tiles from being stuck at the bottom of the board. The goal of the game is to continue moving the tiles down the board, resulting in common and bonus letters appearing.

    • 5). Complete as many bonus words as possible. Listed below the worm is a word. If you find the word in the puzzle, you receive a word bonus.

    • 6). Use the bonus letters in large words. Bonus letters multiply each word according to color. Green multiplies the word by two, sapphire multiplies the word by three and diamond multiplies the word by four. You can use multiple bonus letters in a word to receive a higher score.
