All successful individuals through history have always attributed a part of their success to being "lucky.
" Warren Buffet has been such a hugely successful investor not only because he has stubbornly stock to a few "fundamental" principles of investing but also because he was on the right side of history.
Bill Gates was able to create such a successful company because he was able to foresee an opportunity and he was at the right place at the right time with the right training and tools - again, a case of being on the right side of history.
No individual human being or company is bigger than the larger historical context.
One only has to consider how a one-time colossus General Motors is teetering on the edge of collapse today to realize how important to identify historic opportunities as well as challenges.
The current economic downturn has seen erosion of wealth of historic proportions.
Not many - if anyone at all - have been spared.
But the true visionaries like Buffet continue to be buyers in today's market and not sellers.
That is the signature of a true genius and visionary - to be a contrarian in the truest sense and buy when the markets are at historic lows.
In a couple of years from now and even more so later, when everyone joins the bandwagon and starts buying in a rising market, geniuses like Buffet will be able to sell their stock holdings at huge premiums from their purchase prices.
Make no mistake - at a minimum, the broader market indices will be at 30 to 50 percent higher than where they're today and some stocks will rise 100 percent and more in a timeframe of three to five years from now.
So, this is one of those inflexion points of history and those who are precinct enough to identify such trends before others profit enormously in the long run.
The opportunities are there for everyone to see - whether it's the solar photovoltaic cells or other forms of alternative energy or the exciting developments in healthcare technologies.
With the huge corrections in the Dow Jones and other indices over the last one and a half years, the markets are poised for a Big Leap over the next couple of years.
