Funny Men's Halloween Costume Ideas
- A man dressing as a woman is a common, somewhat humorous costume idea. Even with a concept that's been done over and over, higher levels can be achieved. Doing something badly can create humor, and that applies to the gender swap costume. Facial hair along with a dress or skirt can push the funny factor over the top. New levels of humor can be achieved by dressing as a specific type of woman (a cheerleader or go-go dancer) or female celebrity.
- Another method of pulling humor and originality from otherwise overdone Halloween costumes is to combine them. Wear a suit and plastic rim glasses with a red cape hanging out of the shirt and it's Clark Kent with a wardrobe malfunction. Dress as a caveman, but put a police uniform over top. Retro games show more potential for transformation into costumes and have a higher humor quotient. Make simple Tetris piece costumes from cardboard boxes. Turn trash can lids and garbage bags painted yellow into Pac-Man dots. Paint a triangle mouth on the front and Pac-Man is born. Use cardboard boxes again to create Pong paddles and a Pong ball.
- Those willing to think things through (and answer the question "what are you?" a lot) might consider costumes that best fit under the heading of "cerebral humor." These costumes don't have an obvious punchline. Make a costume out of cereal boxes with some blood spatters and carry a plastic knife to become a "cereal killer." Glue a bunch of broken clocks on a sweatshirt with blood spatters. The same plastic knife creates a costume of a person "killing time." Any catchphrase can become a costume choice.
