Homemade Waterfall Fountain
- 1). Place a piece of 2-inch diameter bamboo into the center of your pot so the bamboo sticks up vertically. Place a mark on the side of the bamboo to denote the overall height you want for your fountain. Take the bamboo out and cut it to length with a hacksaw. The larger the pot, the larger your overall waterfall will be. Select a pot that suits the size of the room where you will keep the waterfall.
- 2). Position two pieces of 3/4-inch diameter bamboo across the center of the pot and mark the ends so there is about 2 inches of overhang on each piece of bamboo. Cut the bamboo pieces to length with the saw.
- 3). Place the 2-inch diameter bamboo vertically in the center of the pot and lay the 3/4-inch diameter bamboo across the pot with one piece of bamboo on each side of the vertical bamboo.
- 4). Slide the vertical bamboo off the bottom of the pot by 2 inches then tie all three pieces together with twine. This will hold the vertical bamboo in an upright position.
- 5). Drill a 5/8-inch hole through one side of the bamboo with a hand drill and a hole saw.
- 6). Slide a piece of 5/8-inch diameter bamboo into the hole then cut the bamboo at a 45-degree angle. Make the piece short enough so that when water comes out of it, it flows the water back into the pot.
- 7). Secure the 5/8-inch diameter bamboo to the 2-inch piece by placing a bead of construction adhesive inside the 2-inch piece where the 5/8-inch bamboo comes through the inside wall.
- 8). Feed a piece of 1/2-inch tubing up through the 2-inch piece of bamboo and into the 5/8-inch spout. Position the tubing so it is not visible.
- 9). Place the pump inside the pot and connect the tubing. Fill the pot half full of water.

Plug the pump into an electrical outlet. The water will flow up through the tube, come out of the spout and flow back into the pot.
