How to Install your Winter Pool Cover

    In-Ground

    • 1). Measure the area of the pool to calculate the size of cover you need. Add 2 inches to the length and width measurements to determine the size of cover you'll need.

    • 2). Install anchor points for the cover. Place two anchors at each corner of the pool to form 90-degree angles, along with four anchors directly in the center of the length and width of the pool's edge (two for length and two for width). Keep the anchors at least 18 inches away from the edges to provide adequate coverage for the pool.

    • 3). Drill holes at the anchor points with a rotary drill and masonry drill bit to cut through concrete. Once the holes are between 2 and 3 inches deep, hammer an anchor into each hole with a rubber mallet until the top of each anchor is flush with the surface of the concrete.

    • 4). Secure the springs to the anchors. With the help of a friend, spread the cover over the entire empty pool and secure the straps on the cover to the springs. Tighten the straps to create tension and thoroughly secure the cover over the pool's opening.

    Above-Ground

    • 1). Measure the opening of the pool. Purchase a cover that is 4 feet larger than the pool's opening to account for overlap.

    • 2). Place the cover over the pool with the help of a partner. Adjust the cover if necessary so that it is centered over the pool.

    • 3). Thread the provided cable through the loops around the edge of the pool and tighten it with the supplied winch to secure it in place.
