How to Convert an MP3 File to a Protected WMA

    • 1). Right click on the MP3 file and select "Open With" from the context menu.

    • 2). Click the "Windows Media Player" link to open the MP3 in the Windows Media Player application. The MP3 file will begin to play, once loaded.

    • 3). Click the down arrow under the "Rip" button on the top navigation bar.

    • 4). Select "More Options" from the context menu. The Rip Music dialog box will appear.

    • 5). Click the "Change" button to change the location for saving the new WMA file.

    • 6). Select one of the Windows Media Audio options from the Rip Settings section of the dialog box.

    • 7). Check the "Copy Protect Music" option.

    • 8). Click the "OK" button to save the MP3 file as a protected WMA file.

    • 9). Open the WMA file in Windows Media Player to test.
