Hilary Duff Has a Great Week

This week teen pop star Hilary Duff had as good a week as any performer would want. Her new greatest hits compilation album Most Wanted becomes her first album to debut at #1 while the single "Wake Up," one of the 3 new songs from the album, enters the pop singles chart at a very strong #22.

Beyond Hilary Duff's rousing debut on top of the album chart, country artist Brad Paisley just misses being the 3rd country artist in the past 2 months to debut at #1 on the pop album chart.

George Strait and Faith Hill entered at the top, but Brad Paisley had to settle for #2 with his album Time Well Wasted. Rock band 311 with their album Don't Tread On Me are the only other act to enter in the top 10. Meanwhile Mariah Carey celebrates 4 complete months in the top 5 with The Emancipation Of Mimi.

On the pop singles chart there is little movement at the very top and the Pussycat Dolls' "Don't Cha" celebrates a 5th week in the pole position. Just a bit further down, however, 3 singles make very strong movements upward. Missy Elliot's "Lose Control" jumps from #13 to #7. The Click Five leap into the top 10 moving from #16 to #8 with "Just the Girl," and the Black Eyed Peas make a 9 notch move from #20 to #11 with "Don't Lie." As mentioned above Hilary Duff easily has the highest debut this week as "Wake Up," enters at #22.

At radio there is a sign that Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" may soon relinquish the top spot. D.H.T.'s "Listen To Your Heart" makes a strong #4 to #2 move and is within striking distance of the top next week.

Gwen Stefani's"Cool" marks its first week in the top 10 with a one notch move to #10, and Mariah Carey's next single "Shake It Off" looks strong as it leaps from #17 to #13.
