You Want the TRUTH!
"The truth? You can't handle the truth!"
Jack Nicholson delivers a line better than most actors, but what is the real truth?
You remember the final courtroom scene from A Few Good Men. Jack Nicholson plays a Marine Colonel from Guantnamo Bay and Tom Cruise is a Lieutenant JAG lawyer defending two marines on trial for murder.
The Lieutenant is not really interested in the truth, only gathering enough evidence to plead a deal with the prosecutor before the trial even begins. The Colonel's truth is based on what actions he believes are necessary to keep the wall of freedom strong on his watch.
Both of these men have a belief system; their so called truth. Neither one of them have any concern for the two men whose lives are on the line.
Flipping through the TV channels you can see the same drama-taking place. Oprah has her truth, Tom Cruise has his truth, and politicians have their truth, heck, even the TV evangelists have their truth. Oprah would have you believe that all of these are the truth. As long as you believe it, you will have peace and harmony. God will accept us all, each in our own way. There is no special way to worship God and find your way to heaven.
You want the truth! Can you handle the truth?
Our God sent himself
in the form of a virgin birth.
In human form he lived,
as one of us, here on this earth.
Dealing with the enemy's temptations,
a Rock he would be,
only to see his time here on earth
come to an end for you and me.
He came to this world
to complete God's Holy plan.
He left this world,
as our sacrificial lamb.
All our sins he came to bear.
Worthy, we are not,
being worthy, he does not care.
The one thing I know,
himself he proclaimed.
No one comes to the Father,
except by My NAME!
Step forward now,
and proudly proclaim,
I believe in our Savior,
and JESUS is his name.
Let us drown out the voices,
of those who would say,
you don't need Jesus,
find peace your own way.
SHOUT the name of JESUS,
the Way, the Truth, and the Life!
The world is hungry for the truth and God has commissioned us to feed his people. The world is ready willing and able to feed them lies and deceit. Let this Easter weekend be an opportunity for you to introduce them to the Way, the Truth and the Life.
